Healthy + Whole Food Vegan Cakes

Everybody loves having a cake from time to time but many people assume that going on a healthy whole food, plant-based diet means forgoing the joy of eating such delicious treats!

Thankfully, it is exactly the opposite! Using nothing but clean whole plant ingredients, you can create incredible and irresistible cakes that will wow everybody.

What’s more, we’d argue that these cakes are even more delicious and richer in taste than ‘normal’ cakes. Conventional cake recipes are mostly comprised of sugar and fat. They taste great because the combination of high-fat, high-sugar processed or animal ingredients makes you addicted to the food in the same way you get addicted to a drug. You want more and more, and more…

Whole food, plant-based cakes contain sugar and fat as well but it’s packaged within the plants. Bananas, dates, and strawberries are sweet but also flavourful and full of aroma. The same is true for all nuts, seeds, coconuts, and avocadoes –  they contain quite a bit of fat but also so much more…

This means that the taste of these cakes comes not only from their sweetness but from all the flavors hidden within them. This allows them to be lower in sugar and fat and not have that highly addictive effect on you. If you try them, you will find that a piece is usually enough. And that you will enjoy the actual taste of that piece and not feel the urge to eat a second one before you have finished the first!
