Almond & Nutmeg Vegan Sauce

Ingredients
 
 

  • 2 ounces raw almonds
  • cups water
  • 1 tbsp whole wheat/einkorn flour
  • 1 clove garlic pressed
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp basil
  • salt to taste
  • several twists freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Put the almonds and water in a blender and blend for 5 min.
  • Heat the whole wheat flour in a saucepan for about 3-4 min. Add the blended almonds and water, stirring energetically.
  • Season with the pressed garlic, nutmeg, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use almond milk instead of blending raw almonds and water.
  • Sometimes when you combine the heated flour and almond milk, lumps
    are formed. You can return the mixture in the blender and pulse for a
    minute.
